Fake News in the Media

 Introduction

With the introduction of the Internet and social media, it became easier than ever to spread misinformation. People often don’t check how trustworthy their source is and suppose that everything they read or see in the media must be true. Moreover, they share the posts with their friends through social media, which makes it spread very quickly and widely. I think this is a serious problem as most people have no idea how to recognize fake news and therefore, they are not sure what to believe. This might be dangerous and may cause several issues, such as people being influenced by wrong information or people not believing anything.

Later in this blog, I would like to focus on things like how fake news works, how often it appears on our screens or how to detect it, and what steps to take to not fall for it. I would also like to raise general awareness about fake news because I think that in today’s world, people need to be more educated on this topic.
